The James Norris Memorial Prize is an annual award offered "to the protection gamer that shows throughout the period the best overall capacity in the placement. " The winner is picked in a poll of the Specialist Hockey Writers Association at the end of the normal season. The trophy existed to the NHL in 1953 by the 4 youngsters of the late James E.  Norris in memory of their daddy, owner-president of the Detroit Red Wings from 1932 to 1952 Kaiden Guhle Jersey.  The first champion was Red Kelly of the Red Wings in 1954.  Bobby Orr of the Boston Bruins won the Norris for a document 8 successive seasons.  Doug Harvey and Nicklas Lidstrom each won it seven times, and Ray Bourque won it 5 times during his job.  The Bruins lead all teams with 14 Norris Prize champions; the Montreal Canadiens are 2nd with 12.  The voting is performed at the end of the normal season, and each citizen places the top 5 prospects on a 10-7-5-3-1 factors system Jared Davidson Jersey.  3 finalists are called and the trophy exists at the NHL Awards after the final thought of the Stanley Mug Playoffs.
